Writer Academy Award-winning, short film, TREVOR. Co-founder, The Trevor Project. Adapted Armistead Maupin's FURTHER TALES OF THE CITY into an Emmy nominated mini-series for SHOWTIME. Wrote one of the final episodes of WILL & GRACE. Eve Ensler recently commissioned James to write some monologues for men to add to her famous, VAGINA MONOLOGUES. Winner of the NY Drama Desk Award, the Outer Critics Circle Award and the LA Theater Weekly Award, James' first solo show, WORD OF MOUTH was presented by Mike Nichols and Elaine May and directed by Eve Ensler. His young adult novel, ABSOLUTE BRIGHTNESS, (published by Harper Collins) was awarded The William Morris Award by the American Librarian Association. His new novel, VIRGIN TERRITORY, was published by Egmont USA in 2010. James' first editing venture, THE LETTER Q, a collection in which famous writers (including James) write letters to their younger selves, was just published by Arthur A. Levine Books, an imprint of Scholastic, Inc.
